It’s 2017, and I’m primarily focused on creating my first 3D animation reel. I didn’t have much time to draw or work on personal projects outside of school. I mainly sketched in my sketchbooks, but those drawings remain unscanned. I might add more to this section later, including some 3D work, but for now, here’s what I have!
Pixel art also became more significant for me during this time.
In 2017, I got my first internship at a AAA game company called Sharkmob.
I started my own game company, Pixadome, and began developing our first game, “Hayfever.” This is partly why there aren’t many drawings here — my full attention went into my portfolio, work, Hayfever, and Pixadome.
Additionally, you can finally see my personal style emerging. There’s clearer shape language and more animation-friendly work, thanks to my pixel art roots, which required a focus on readability and simple design.
I decided to group 2017 and 2018 together because, at this point, my life became more project-oriented rather than focused on individual images. So it makes more sense to organize the content this way moving forward.
