During this period, I was actively drawing and posting on Newgrounds and a website called SheezyArt. It was around this time that I really became interested in pushing my art further. Art served mainly as a social outlet for me because of the communities surrounding it.
I also started making Flash movies during this time.
The lock characters are related to something called “Lock Legion,” a Flash community I was part of. Each community member had a character or object with a lock for a face. I created many Lock Legion Flash animations, which helped establish my animation foundation. I particularly enjoyed Lock Legion because of the social aspect; we sort of lived through these characters and included our lock-friends in our animations.
Many of these works are what you might call “profile IDs,” which were pictures or videos displayed on artist pages. They usually weren’t very animated, and I made a TON of them.
Some of this stuff makes me want to crawl out of my own skin!
